I just want to say that I really appreciate this article. I have been 'hiding' the fact that I have a plethora of songs and even a musical (still in progess) from the rest of the world because of my struggle with standard musical notation. I have studied on and off but can't seem to master pitch recognition/notation - which confines me to composing key-by-key at the piano... Please, keep up the inspiration.
